Who we are
Do Not Pet is a private company that sells dog gear and runs a voluntary registry. We are not a government agency, a certifying body, a dog trainer or a health care provider, and we are not affiliated with any of them.
How the registry works
- Registration is voluntary and paid (one-time fee, shown at checkout). You fill in your dog's details yourself; we do not test, observe or verify your dog's training, and a registration does not certify anything.
- A registration gives no legal rights to you or your dog. No business, landlord, airline or government office has to accept it. The Department of Justice says documents like these "do not convey any rights under the ADA".
- If you register a service dog, you confirm that it is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Misrepresenting a dog as a service animal is a crime in Nevada (NRS 426.805) and in at least 36 states.
- Anyone with a registration number can look up the dog's name, the role you chose and the date it was registered. Your phone number shows on a lookup only if you choose it, so someone who finds your dog can reach you.
- You can change or delete your registration at any time. We remove registrations that we learn are false.
Gear, printing and returns
- Unused gear can be returned within 30 days. Printed items (ID cards, certificates and engraved tags) are made to order and can be returned only if we made a mistake.
- Printed items show exactly what your registration says.
- Before we ship service dog gear, we ask you to confirm the dog is a trained service dog.
California notice for emotional support animal items
The item does not entitle an emotional support animal to the rights and privileges accorded by law to a guide, signal, or service dog. Knowingly and fraudulently representing oneself to be the owner or trainer of any canine licensed as, to be qualified as, or identified as, a guide, signal, or service dog is a misdemeanor violation of Section 365.7 of the Penal Code.
We give this notice to every buyer of an emotional support item, wherever they live.
Privacy, in short
We keep what you give us to run the registry and fill orders. We do not sell it. Registration photos and details are stored so we can print your items and answer lookups. For now, everything you enter stays in your own browser and is never sent to us.
We measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across other sites.
